CASE Renovates a New Space

2024 was a year of change for CASE Shetland, the biggest of which was arguably our move from the original office in Griesta to a newly refurbished space in Lerwick, bringing all staff into the same building, rather than spread between two. But first we decided to do a radical revamp on the new Lerwick space and make it as stylish and pleasant to work in as our existing office.

Not content with just a lick of paint and some new furniture, we decided to strip everything back to the original exterior walls and reinsulate and rewire. As with every extensive refurb project, we found some surprises along the way, but it was nothing RG Construction couldn’t ably deal with.

When it came to rewiring and lighting, Nordri fit the brief with efficient and friendly service. As well as standard 13 amp sockets, we opted for a 5 amp circuit round the room for all our task lighting, so it only takes one flick of a switch at the end of the day to turn all of these off.

We decided to tie the two spaces together with similar flooring and furniture, albeit in tones that fit the vibe in the new space better and worked with an element we really wanted to highlight - wood finishes.

With influences from mid-century design, natural light, our collective love of plywood and a desire for an airy and adaptable space, we set to work designing and styling the space with key custom builds from Davie Jamieson

Davie brought to life the elements which are key to the new layout - our media wall which functions as a library, storage and presentation space, and our hand built reception desk with integral stationary storage. He also brought us a fantastic, one-of-a-kind table to use in our meeting area. We love having our Monday morning planning meetings, client catch-ups around it as well as using the space to really spread out those large print drawings!

We had a fantastic evening with friends and family to celebrate the new space and new website - many thanks to all who were able to come and spence time with us at 4 Market Street!
